Origin: Excavated in 1984, Baiyanglin Village, Pengyang County, Ningxia. (See Photo Z000068C)
Dimensions: 8 cm (L) x 4.5 cm (W).
Description: This bronze plaque (Photo Z000068C) is a quintessential component of Northern Chinese nomadic tribes, showcasing the vigorous (Ordos style) steppe art. The piece features an intricate openwork design depicting a standing tiger with its jaws locked onto a struggling deers neck. The tiger is powerfully built, characterized by round eyes and large oval ears. Notably, a raptors head with a hooked beak emerges from its back, while its long tail¡Xadorned with a wheat-ear pattern¡Xterminates in another upward-facing raptor head with two pointed ears.
