| Description:
|
An early Qing dynasty (Qianlong: AD1736-1795) dragon plate. Powerfully painted in deep cobalt-blue with two leaping dragons separated by a Shou character in stylized script amongst Ruyi shaped billowing clouds. The rim decorated by scrolling key-fret border.
I personally like dragon design very much and collect many different utensils with dragon designs. In ancient China, dragon represents: imperiality, authority, and mystique. Probably this is one of the reasons why I like dragon designs.
