Description:

This plate was bought from Mr. Sean during one of my business trips to Shanghai. I personally like this kind of simplicity folk art painting style, and the plate is quite big as a charger, plus it has the 4 characters seal on the back, so I did not think too much and just bought it.
This is a middle Qing dynasty Blue and White Soaring Phoenix with Peony Floral Pattern shallow rounded charger. Elegantly painted in vivid tones of cobalt blue, the charger featured with total three soaring Phoenix in inner plate, and all enclosed within a broad band of composite peony floral scrolls issuing curling foliage. It is a great piece of folk art from middle Qing dynasty. |
