Description (guaranteed):

a 'Batavian ware' bowl painted inside with peony sprays in underglaze-blue; a 'Batavian ware' teabowl and saucer painted in underglaze-blue with chrysanthemums and bamboo; and a peony-molded saucer with traces of enamelling on the rim.


 
特別說明:
Condition:

All pieces have wear to the glaze consistent with having been underwater for an extended period. The large bowl has had four large pieces broken from one side and restuck. The teabowl and saucer are in good condition. The peony-molded saucer has been broken in half and repaired.

Provenance: The Nanking Cargo, sold by Christie's in Amsterdam April 28-May 2, 1986, part lots 2545, 5178 and 5733A, and bearing original collection labels. These pieces are four from the thousands recovered in 1985 from the wreck of ship which was sunk circa 1750 whilst carring Chinese porcelain from China to Europe.
