Painted with a narrow band of flower and leaf scrolls in reserve against a blue ground above four large peony sprays that fill the wide canted rim, the shallow curving well encircled by a cash patterned diaper band that frames grape vines and bamboo rising amid blossoming peony branches, the edge of the rim striped in iron wash and the reverse cursorily painted in blue with leafy branches, the lustrous glaze covering all surfaces except the foot.
