Description:
Couldn't figure out what's exactly meaning of the carving work when I first bought the piece. A tiger bundle wrapped with cloth, not delivering boy, and what is it? The seller had no clue either. The carving of tiger head is very life like, and the little tail is slightly curved, very cute. I jokingly said it must be "Bao Hu" (in Chinese homophone: surely win in Mah-Jong). So next time when I play Mah-Jong, I must bring this piece with me.

Of course, I don't think the ancient jade worker would carve a work for Mah-Jong play, and must have some meaningful reason behind, so I tried to dig out more information from sources. Luckily, I found out the true meaning of the work from the Book of Rites and further from the poetry of Lee Bai. It depicts using tiger skin to wrap up weapons and then stop battles.

Afterwards, I also saw severl similar works, and most of sellers didn't even know what it means. After I told them the story, they all fully agreed with my view. I am also very happy as I found out the best explanation to the piece I own. However, I still anyway love my first opinion to the piece, "Bao Hu"!!
