Description (guaranteed):
Very rare subject of traditional Chinese 24 Filial Piety Stories (deer milk for parents). I found this piece in ShenZen. The carving works are in more details than my other collection under the same subject, also a little big, and round carving, very rare piece. The whole surface of the article is scattered into smaller pieces, should be the earth warm effect in its early stage. There are two small holes on the chest, which was the typical method in ancient time to fix the position while carving the jade. The little boy holding the deer skin and covering it on the shoulder, another hand carrying small bucket, trying to blend into deer group and get milk for parents, very vivid.
I talked with the owner several times for the price, and he is also a Taiwanese so I asked him to bring back that piece so that I can make the final decision. At that time, I was thinking it would be wonderful if I can own two pieces of the same subject together and make them a pair.
After I got back to Taiwan, I went to the owner and negotiated for price again. Lastly, I got a better price together with the purchase of Holding Boar. Eventually, I got both to make them a pair. |

二十四孝＿鹿乳奉親
周朝時，有一位叫郯子的，從小就很孝順。
他的父母年老的時候，雙目均患眼疾，想吃鹿乳。郯子苦思冥想，終於想出一個辦法。於是他穿上了鹿皮，往深山鹿群中走去，想這樣去取得鹿乳供奉雙親，沒想到被打獵的人發現。
正當獵人舉起了弓箭要射殺他時，他急忙喊道：”我爲了取得鹿乳，給患有眼疾的雙親吃才穿上鹿皮，混到鹿群中採取鹿乳。”獵人知道原來是人不是鹿，才放下弓箭沒有射他，並且對他這種孝敬父母的行爲讚歎不已。

親老思鹿乳，身穿褐毛衣；
若不高聲語，山中帶箭歸。
