Description (guaranteed):

On one side roughly carved with a chilong, the reverse with a taotie mask in low relief, drilled with a large hole and a smaller hole at the base, the chilong with one hole piercing through and two smaller holes partially drilled on one side, the stone of yellowish-green shading to tan with some russet veining.

Condition: nicks to edges and back of chilong

Notes: The Qing dynasty dates from 1644 to 1911.

The taotie is the name of a motif used in the Bronze Age that reappears throughout the history of Chinese art as either two confronted beasts in profile or as a full face view of an animal mask.
