Description:
Shakyamuni Buddha (Tibetan: sha kya tu pa, sang gye. English: the Enlightened One, Sage of the Shakya Clan), founder of Buddhism. Formal in appearance, the Buddha gazes forward with partially closed eyes and the blue-black hair on the head is piled in a tuft on top with a single red ornament adorning the crown. The earlobes are long and pierced. With both hands show in the mudra of meditation (dhyana-mudra). Across the left shoulder is a saffron coloured patchwork robe. A similar lower garment is tied at the waist with a cloth belt. The legs are folded in vajra posture.

The appearance of the Buddha is so solemn and respectful,
This elegant Shakyamuni sculpture has mound of flesh (UsNiSa) on the top of head, spiraled hair, very calm and serene manner. Both eyes slightly open and look down peacefully, and show an appearance of benevolent face and serene expression. The Buddha wearing monastic robes, upper body is dressed in a double-collar rope incised with delicate design and covering both shoulders, while the rope also draping down naturally to lower body.

Lotus pedestal is very typical Ming style, Shakyamuni Buddha seating in Vajrasana full-lotus posture. Truly a pretty and significant Buddha statue.
