I first saw this Seated Guanyin with a Child Statue from the internet, and was very impressed by its style and classic look. However, it was hard to tell the statue is really vintage piece or not from the internet photos. Went to Beijing to see my daughter, and took the opportunity to visit Beijing Antique Mall. In one of the antique shops with specialty in gilt Buddha, I saw one exactly the same Guanyin with a Child Statue, and the asked price was not low. So I decided right away to order the one I saw on the internet after I got back to Taiwan.
After receiving the actual statue, it has very fine carving work and surface with age mark, and signature on the back of the statue (still checking). This is really a very nice Qing Dynasty Seated Guanyin with a Child Statue. May be next time I visit Beijing again, I buy the other one back too. |
